1. Who we are

Zixlabs SQC ("SQC", "the app") is a Steam Quality Calculator developed and published by Zixlab Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales.

2. Scope of this policy

This policy explains how information is handled when you use SQC. It applies to the mobile application and to privacy enquiries sent to Zixlab Ltd about SQC.

It does not replace the privacy terms of your device manufacturer, mobile operating system, Apple App Store, Google Play, employer, file-storage provider, email provider, or any other third-party service you choose to use.

3. Information entered into SQC

SQC allows users to enter information needed to perform and document steam-quality testing. Depending on the tests selected, this may include test measurements, equipment-under-test details, test date, tester or "performed by" name, repeat-test information and other report details entered by the user.

The app uses this information to perform the requested calculations, determine the displayed test outcome according to the application's configured criteria, and prepare the resulting report.

Users are responsible for ensuring that information entered into SQC is appropriate for their organisation and that they are authorised to process it.

4. Calculations and report generation

SQC is designed to perform its core steam-quality calculations on the device. Zixlab Ltd does not operate a remote calculation service that receives users' test measurements.

The app can generate a PDF test report containing information entered by the user together with calculated results, pass/fail indications and calculation details. A generated report may contain names, equipment identifiers or other workplace information if the user chooses to enter those details.

5. Saving, exporting and sharing reports

When a user chooses to save, export or share a generated report, the destination and transmission are controlled by the user's device, operating system and the service selected by the user. For example, a report may be saved to device storage, an organisation-managed location, a cloud-storage provider, email or another sharing destination.

Zixlab Ltd does not receive a copy of an SQC report merely because the user saves or shares it using device controls. Any third-party service selected for storage or sharing processes information under its own terms and privacy policy.

6. Accounts and personal information

SQC does not require a Zixlab account and does not require a user to provide profile information to Zixlab Ltd in order to perform the application's core calculations.

If you contact Zixlab Ltd for support or a privacy enquiry, we will receive the information you choose to provide, such as your email address, message and any diagnostic information or attachments you voluntarily send. We use that information to respond to the enquiry, provide support, protect our legal interests where necessary, and improve the product.

7. Network use, analytics and advertising

The core SQC calculation and report-generation workflow is designed to operate without a Zixlab-hosted cloud service. At the date of this policy, Zixlab Ltd does not provide advertising through SQC and does not operate a Zixlab backend for storing users' test inputs or generated steam-quality reports.

The app includes third-party software libraries and relies on operating-system and app-store services. Those providers may process limited technical, security, installation, purchase or diagnostic information under their own terms and privacy policies. Where app-store rules require disclosure of such processing, Zixlab Ltd will reflect the applicable information in the relevant store privacy or Data Safety declaration.

8. Data sharing and sale

Zixlab Ltd does not sell SQC users' personal data and does not share users' steam-quality test inputs or generated reports with advertisers.

Information provided directly to Zixlab Ltd may be disclosed only where reasonably necessary to provide support, comply with law, protect legal rights, prevent misuse or security threats, or use professional advisers and service providers subject to appropriate confidentiality and data-protection obligations.

9. Retention and deletion

Information and files held on the user's device or in destinations selected by the user remain under the control of the user, their organisation and the relevant storage provider. Users can manage or delete generated reports using the controls provided by their device or chosen storage service.

Removing SQC does not necessarily delete copies of reports that a user previously exported, emailed, uploaded or saved outside the app. Those copies must be managed at their destination.

Support and privacy correspondence sent directly to Zixlab Ltd is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was received, including support, security, legal and record-keeping requirements.

10. Security

Zixlab Ltd applies reasonable technical and organisational measures appropriate to the nature of the app and the information handled. No mobile device, electronic storage method or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure, so users should also apply appropriate device security, access controls and organisational procedures.

11. Professional and workplace use

SQC is intended as an engineering and quality-support calculation tool. It does not replace approved procedures, calibrated test equipment, qualified personnel, formal validation requirements or independent verification required by an organisation or applicable regulation.

If SQC is used on a device managed by an employer or other organisation, that organisation may apply its own privacy, security, mobile-device-management, retention, backup and monitoring rules.

12. Children

SQC is a professional engineering utility and is not directed at children. Zixlab Ltd does not knowingly design the app to collect personal information from children.

13. Your data-protection rights

Where Zixlab Ltd processes personal data about you directly, applicable UK data-protection law may give you rights including access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection and, in some circumstances, data portability. The availability of a particular right depends on the circumstances and legal basis for processing.

You can exercise applicable rights by contacting hello@zixlabs.co.uk. You also have the right to raise a concern with the UK Information Commissioner's Office if you believe your data-protection rights have been infringed.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when SQC functionality, third-party components, legal requirements or our data-handling practices change. The current version will be published at this URL and the effective date above will be updated when appropriate.
